Jazz Festival

Today we went to the Jazz Festival in Old Sac with our neighbors. The girls loved dressing up in their patriotic outfits, or as Allie calls them, their "4th of July outfits". It was a great day and we heard a few good bands. Makin' memories with the Browards.

Happy "Summer" Birthday Als

Last Friday, Allie got to celebrate her "summer" birthday at school. She was so excited because there is a whole birthday routine and she talks about it all year, so this year she got to do it. Her pre school has a birthday celebration at the park to celebrate all of the summer birthdays (and we did that last year), but I was not sure if we could make it, so we planned this one earlier, to make sure she had a "birthday" at school. It is so crazy what makes little ones tick, and the little things that mean so much. Allie is full of love and has a huge heart, so this is the stuff that she loves! This will be something to look back on and smile. She got to wear a special crown, stand on the birthday chair (huge deal in her eyes), blow out the special candle, ding the bell 5 times since she is "5 now" and got to bring special cupcakes for her friends and teachers. Paige got to go to the celebration, and we stayed most of the morning. She fit right in...you will see her in the mix of all the other kiddos at school. She will be more than ready to start when she is 3. Grandma Ganne and Paka joined the fun too. We had a good celebration and I even brought my camera. As I was getting all of the stuff ready to take to school Allie said "and you know that little silver camera you have? you can bring that, cause all the moms do that when they come for a party".  Happy early 5th Birthday Gracer Mace!!

The guest speaker at school was a nurse (and our neighbor) so she let Allie be the patient and wear a cast. She thought it was cool at first, but then did not like having the cast on! Lets hope she never needs one....

Jumping Beans

For Paige's big birthday present (and Allie's too) we got the girls a trampoline. A few weeks ago we were at my cousin's house for a birthday party and the girls jumped all night long. We didn't realize how huge it would be in our yard, but it has been a hit. Pa jumped with the girls while he was here, and Rockin' Bone (our neighbor Will) came to jump with the girls one morning this week. Lots of fun times ahead!!

Happy Mother's Day

With all of the party festivities I didn't get the Mother's Day pictures I hoped to get. My mom was with us on this special day, and we had a very nice dinner at Grandma and Paka's but the camera was at home or in the car....note to self....get pics with mom next time we are together!!!  I am lucky to be a Mom and here are the girls that make this possible. I love you with all of my heart sweet girls.

Happy 2nd Birthday Paige Kaitlyn

It really doesn't seem possible that the little 7 pound newborn we brought home 2 years ago is now a walking, talking, dancing, little person who knows exactly what she wants!

We are so blessed to have our sweet girl in our lives. Paige is full of energy and makes us all laugh. She takes gymnastics, tap, goes to Kindermusik and loves to swim. She is a trooper and just kinda goes with the flow. She talks in full sentences and amazes us with her vocabulary. She loves to count and sing songs. I love to hear her say her nightly prayer and someday need to get it on video...it is too cute!

We have been talking about her not nursing once she turns two, and for the last two days she has not nursed and just goes to sleep like a champ. Last night, Geoff asked me if I was going to cave if she started crying and I thought I might. But she didn't even ask.... It is just like she just knew that the "milk was all gone". It is a little bittersweet...my babe it really growing up. I had to do it now....I have been saying "when she is 18 months, no 20 months", well 24 months was the final cut!  I sure did not want to be nursing a 4 year old on the cover of Time Magazine ;o)

We look forward to the next year. Can't wait to see how much Paige will grow and change. I know she will continue to amaze us and make us proud to be her parents. We are so lucky to have her in our lives. We love you Miss Paige Kaitlyn!!!

Paige's 2nd Birthday Celebration

We love our Paigee Girl and had a great celebration for her on Mother's Day. Yes, I scheduled her party on Mother's Day without knowing it, but it all worked out for the best.  Mother's Day was a week before her birthday when she was born, and last year, so I didn't even think about it...I sure will next year!! We had her party at the gym where she takes gymnastics, and her coaches from her regular Saturday class were there too. We had a fun party and I even got a little gift for the moms, since they shared their special day with us!! Thanks for all who were there...it really means a lot to us.
