Lake Solano

One of our favorite little field trips is to visit Lake Solano. So when Aunt Jennifer called to see if we would like to join them all of the Hulbert clan agreed. Paige is no longer a fan of canoeing or kayaking so I am happy to stay put with her on the dock :o) The last time all 4 of us rode in the canoe it did not last long and I thought for sure we would tip (wonder where Paige gets it from)? This time Geoff and Als thought they would try a kayak and they liked it a lot better.

Kainoa took an aquatic camp this summer and he and Timi were off to the races as soon as they were on the water.

Paige was happy to "fetch" Paka's life jacket and take it to him. She is a little land dweller! Paka was a pro in his own kayak.

The kids always have fun catching little tadpoles and minnows. Well at least that is what we think they are!

Aunt Jennifer has not had great kayaking experience so she was hesitant to try, but she is a trooper and totally rocked it when she jumped in the kayak.

Uncle Timi was a good sport and waited for Aunt Jen and they kayaked up and down together
 More catching under the bridge

Paige was very, very proud of her "catches"

Summer Days

We have had lots of busy, fun filled days this summer. These pics are not in any particular order but show what we have been up to!

Grandma and Paka got the girls and our family tickets for the Mary Poppins Musical in Sac. It was an amazing performance and the girls loved it! I must say it was "practically perfect in every way".

Took a long walk one morning and ended up at the park to play on the new NEOS system. It is fun.

Geoff fixing Allie's hair for church. We don't go too often, but on this day I was teaching Sunday School so Geoff fixed the girls hair and got them ready while I was getting ready!
The girls love swimming at Grandma and Paka's but it is also fun to change things up and swim at the public pools once in a while. Allie was so brave and jumped of the high dive, and Paige was a trooper and jumped off the diving board too. It is 12 feet and she was a champ and swam straight to the side. The girls must have jumped at least 15 times each. It was a great night.

Allison went to a fun birthday party at Michael's and loved her face painting and wanted it to last forever on a picture!
The girls love the idea of staying all night at Grandma and Paka's but have not made it through the night except for one time. Allison had a great idea, that our whole family could stay the night at Grandma and Paka's together. So she drew a map of how it was going to go. We did it last weekend and it was fun.
Just a little dress up on a Friday night. Paige decided to be Sully and Allison wanted to be a beautiful bride!

Jack says these 100+ degree days are getting to be a little much. He spends lots of his time laying on the cold tile on these hot summer days!
 A little sidewalk chalk fun!
A little impromptu lunch date and play date at ArtBeast with the Eathorne Fam. It is nice when you have teacher friends and can plan a play date on a weekday a half hour before! We had a great time and the kids had a blast!

Mermaids

Grandma Ganne has fun finding all kinds of great things for the kids. Books, games, just stuff that you don't find every day, and she surprised the girls with these cool mermaid tails. They were super excited to get them and love flipping their fins in the water!
