For Paige's birthday gift, Grandma Ganne and Paka got her a push behind walker...I am not sure what they are really called but she loves it. She pushes it, climbs on it, has Allie push her in it, strolls her babies and kitty cat, you name it, she does it. The other day she was going all over the place with her kitty cat and was very proud of herself. It is very sturdy and doesn't tip, so she is very confident with it. One of these days she is going to take off!!!
Today we stayed close to home and the girls had fun playing out front with sidewalk chalk. Allie was drawing rainbows and flower and busy making all kinds of things. She was very proud of her rainbow! Paige scribbled for a bit then took a detour to visit with "hop-hop". She loves our rabbit Murphy and every time she sees him she says "hop-hop" and bounces up and down. She is an animal lover and always pays attention to Mr. Murph. When we get in the car he comes over to the cage and waits for someone to pet him. Paige always spots him and loves to pet him and admire him.
Yesterday morning the Eathornes invited us to meet them at the Sac County Fair, so we thought it would be fun to get out a bit and see the animals. We didn't really think Allie would go on that many rides but she went on a lot of them with Daddy, Burke and Carter. Molly, Jen, Paige and I sat on the sidelines and cheered them on!
After a lot of spinning on the tilt-o-whirl Geoff and Burke had had enough of the rides so we headed to the animal barn. Allie got to meet some pigs and we looked at all of the different animals. It was the auction...so it was a bit crazy! Paige was not sure what to think of all of the animals but she loved seeing the "hop-hop" (bunnies).
Then the girls both rode a pony and loved it. Allie said "this is the best fair ever, and I never want to leave." Paige rode like she knew what she was doing. I thought she might get scared but she didn't even bat and eye, just rode along!
We met back up with Burke and Jenn and the kids and found the "kiddy ride" area. Allie, Carter and Mia when on the teacups and that put Allie over the edge. She was crying and the nice carni stopped the ride for her to get off. A little embarrassing but she was obviously not going to settle down.
We had a lot of fun and are glad the Eathornes made the call. This is not something we would have done on our own and we had a lot of fun!!
This weekend we celebrated Paige's 1st Birthday with friends and family. It was a sunny day and we enjoyed having everyone over for a nice, low key party at the house. We celebrated a week later than her real birthday so we could have her Kindermusik teacher, Miss Sunny at the party. The kids....young and old....had fun with Miss Sunny. After the music celebration the kids played outside. Paige was not feeling her best that day...turns out she has her first ear infection..I guess a lot of "firsts" happen this year. She was in good spirits and had fun at her party. By the time it was "cake" time she was not too in to it, so we saved the cake for later. She is still not feeling her best, so we might have to do a cake tasting at some other time. We had a good day and are lucky to have our sweet girl. Many more fun memories ahead with our "baby" girl.
** Warning....lots of pictures :o) and not one of Geoff and I with Paige...boo :o(
Geoff and I were married in 2001 and were blessed with our first daughter, Allison Grace in July 2007, and our second daughter, Paige Kaitlyn in 2010. I am a part-time, independent study teacher and Geoff is an administrator at our school. We have a good balance of work and home. We created this blog to keep our family and friends in the loop and let them know what goes on around the Hulbert house. Thanks for reading!
