Big Sister Day

Allie has been anxious for her baby sister to "hatch out" for a long time now. She has had a to wait a long time and the big day is almost here. She has been a trooper listening to sister's heart "beep" on the doppler and dragging to doctor's appointments in Roseville. Today at my pre-op appointment the nurse was sad Allie was not there. She was waiting for her usual greeting from Allie "Hi Christina, my name is Allie and this is my mom, Jen".

Since we will be a family of 4 tomorrow at this time, we thought we would do something special for Allie as her last day as an only child! My friend Jenn did this for Carter before his baby sister was born and I thought it was a great idea. Allie's favorite thing to do these days is to ride the carousel at the mall. We have tried to take her in the past and she has never been interested. Then one day she made up her mind, and now that is what she wants to do all of the time. She calls the carousel operator "punkie" not sure why but she always wants to go visit "punkie" and ride the panda when we ask her what she wants to do. So we picked up Pa & Grandma Rhonda at the airport, went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and rode the carousel with "punkie".

It was a fun evening to pass the time until little sister is here and now we are ready for the big day. We did not do a 3-D/4-D Ultrasound with this pregnancy so we are anxious to see if she will look like Als or look like herself. Dr. Ole Olsson thinks she is going to be around 7 pounds...we will see if he is right! Once we see her we will finally be able to name her!!
