Bug Catching

Allie was hanging out with Geoff in the garage and found her butterfly net and farmer hat and was ready to go catch some butterflies. We don't have too many out in the backyard yet but hopefully they will come visit us soon. Allie is ready for them!

Playdate with cousins Ruby & Nora

Allie always loves seeing cousins Ruby and Nora. When Grandma Ganne and Paka take care of Allison they sometimes meet up with Uncle Jerry, Aunt Fay and the girls for a playdate. I got home a little early last time they were here and got to see the girls together. It was fun to see all of them...they get along really well. They had a little picnic lunch and played in the pool. Nora even "christened" Allie's potty chair...even if it wasn't in the bathroom....when you are 2 and gotta go you just go where there is a potty chair! Ruby and Nora are great cousins and Allie loves to play wiht them.

Mr. Golden Sun

The past weekend and last few days we have had a true heat wave in Cali. You know it is hot when your A/C kicks on before 9:00 am. Sadly, we lost Murphy (our rabbit) on the first hot day. We didn't prepare very well and he got too hot and didn't survive. When we tell Allie he hopped away she says "he is in a bush--find him" but we haven't been able to find him.....and won't. Maybe she will forget about him...but I doubt it. I don't think we want to take a chance on another bunny in the summer so we will wait awhile to add another pet to the Hulbert household. We have had fun playing out in the backyard enjoying Mr. Sun, it is just a little too hot to stay out for too long. Allie loves swimming in her pool, playing with her water table and playing t-ball. I have a feeling we will be in the backyard a lot this spring and summer!

Diggin' in the Dirt

Grandma and Paka have a great dirt patch...which will soon become a wonderful garden but it is not planted right now. Allie wanted to get in the dirt all day so we finally gave in and stripped her down so she could play. Once we gave her the green light to dig in, she wanted to stay on the outside and dig...it was pretty funny. She had a blast digging with Grandma, Paka and Kainoa. They found worms and wiggle bugs. Then Kainoa and Allie moved on to the sandbox and made "birthday cake" and other recipes!

Easter Festivities

The Easter Bunny made it to Woodland this year. It was fun to see Allie's eyes light up when she saw her Easter Basket filled with goodies. She said "whoo, choco-lat"and really liked the "Mellow-peeps" too. We had a good morning then headed to Colusa for Easter dinner and a celebration with all of the Hulbert clan. The kids had a great time hunting eggs and running around outside. When we drove into Colusa Allie said "Grandma, Paka's house, birthday cake" I guess there is always cake in Colusa!! Allie was more interested in the eggs filled with "choco-lat" than the money eggs.....we will have to teach her better next year :o) She liked playing t-ball with Carlie, Alena and Kainoa and running through the big boys game of baseball. Todd, Ryan and Marcus are great big cousins and were patient with the little ones. We had a great Easter Sunday.

Oakland A's Game

Today we took Allie to her first Oakland A's game. It was especially cool because cousin Todd got to throw the opening pitch. He did an awesome job...I didn't get too many good pictures but it was very fun to see him up on the mound at a major league baseball game. The whole family was there to cheer him on and we had a great time. Allie loved eating snacks and seeing all the people. The weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day for a ball game!!

Silly Allie

Here are a few random shots of what Allie has been up to lately. She loves to pretend, play dress up and have tea parties. Today she wanted to be a princess and wear a crown to her tea party. We are passing on the family bassinet to the Garners for their first grandchild and Allie loved playing in it. She sang "rock-a-bye-baby" to herself (a few times) and loved being in the bassinet like a "little baby" it was really cute....she was just a bit too big for it. Geoff and I don't know what we did with our time when Allie wasn't around to entertain us....I guess we were just really boring!!!

Tree Hugger

Allie has become quite the tree hugger lately. Not sure why or where she picked it up but she is a hugger! Spring is officially here and we have been enjoying the beautiful weather outside and signs of spring all around us. This is the perfect time of year!!

Love the tree
