Marine World Part 2

Since we have a season pass to Marine World, we thought we we would try different things this trip. We loved seeing the sea lion show, the tiger show (well Paige didn't like it but Geoff and Al's did), and we watched the Shouka show again! This time we were in the "splash zone" so my phone and camera were put away for safe keeping! Next time we go, Allie wants to try to ride and elephant. Lots of fun times at Marine World!!!

Swimming Lessons

Allison was a rock star at swimming lessons this year! It is so fun to see her swim everyday at Grandma and Paka's and then see her put her skills together at lessons. She had a lot of fun. We tried swimming lessons with Paige at a different pool (since you have to be 3 to swim at Morley's) but she was not into it. She is a maniac in the pool. Jumps off the side, dives, goes to the bottom, pulls herself up at the side, and loves the water, but she was not at all interested in having a male instructor or taking lessons in a "cold" pool. So we will continue to swim with her, and try "formal" lessons next year at Morley's Swim School.

Daddy Days

Geoff took a few days off last week and we had a great time while he was off. We went swimming at the public pool. The girls love to swim! We usually swim at Grandma and Paka's but thought we would try a night swim at the public pool in Davis. The girls thought it was super cool because of the water mushroom and diving board!

The next day we went to Marine World for the first time! The girls had a great time and we can't wait to go back. We loved watching the Shouka and dolphin shows. We mostly watched shows and rode a few kiddie rides. Next time we will have a better plan and know how to navigate better!!

On Saturday we went to Lake Solano and floated in a canoe. Grandma and Paka met in in their kayaks and had a great time. I am not a huge fan of being on the water with the girls in the canoe.....so Paige and I cut our ride short, and Geoff and Allie went back out. She looks pretty darn comfortable...legs hanging over the side and all.....

To end the the weekend, the Eathorne Family came to swim and have dinner at Grandma and Paka's. It was a great week!!

All Aboard

While Grandma was taking care of cousin Kainoa last week, she asked if we would like to meet her at the train station in Davis to see the trains come into the station. It was fun for the girls and amazing to me how fast the trains pull in, load and unload passengers, and are back on the tracks and off the the next stop! We had a slice of pizza from the little bakery across the street, and then stopped by a local ice cream shop for a yummy treat. The girls took a cupcake home to dad, and Paige loved carrying it! She thought she was so cool! We had a fun time seeing the trains!

UC Davis Outing

UC Davis is a fun place to go see all kinds of animals. They have the ducks at the arboretum, sheep barns, dairy cow barns, but our favorite place to visit is the horse stables. We went and had dinner at Woodstocks and then had a little field trip to see the "horsies".  The girls love to go, and it is a fun way to spend and evening, and it is FREE and lots of fun. If you are ever in Davis, we would love to meet you to see the animals.

Happy 4th of July

Our 4th started off a little different than we had planned but it turned out to be great. Every year, the Eathornes have a golf cart parade out in Rancho Murieta and the girls loved it last year, so we thought we would give it a whirl again this year. Paige had other plans, and slept in until 9:40, so we did not make it to the parade. So instead, we joined our neighbors who were decorating bikes for the Woodland Bike Parade here in town. We had fun decorating with The Broward Families and headed up town to ride in the parade. We also ran into Grandma, Paka, Aunt Jen, Uncle Timi and Kainoa. It was a short little route and the kids had fun!

After the parade we had lunch and re-grouped for dinner at Grandma and Paka's. Mary Jo and Bill were visiting from Arizona so it was nice to spend time with them.

After lots of swimming and good eats, we thought we would do fireworks at our house since Paige is not a big fan and would want to be inside. It is crazy how her little body shakes and it feels like her heart is going to jump out of her chest when she sees fireworks.  Paige was inside and we watched her on the video monitor. Maybe next year she will like them better.

We had a great show and the "big" kids had fun. We were able to see some of the big fireworks at the show that was at the High School down the street. We had a Happy and safe 4th of July and look forward to many more!!
