Lake Tahoe

Geoff and I love to go to Lake Tahoe. It is where we went for our honeymoon and we always seem to have a good time. Our friends the Gantenbeins have a cabin up at Tahoe and invited us up for the weekend. Grandma and Paka also went and we had a fun time. This was Allie's second trip to the lake but the first time she really got to explore. She was a little baby when we went last time. She loved hiking, throwing rocks, feeding the fish, birds and ducks, watching Macy swim in the water to fetch her ball and just loved being outside. It was beautiful weather and we had a nice weekend. Terry had a crawdad trap and Allie liked the idea of it but once the little critters were out of the trap she did not want anything to do with them! I don't blame her :o) We need to go to the Lake Tahoe more often!!!

That bird is a little close Dadda!

Allie the Magnificent

On Friday night we were bored so we thought we would run up to Target and Michael's and see if there was anything we couldn't live without. Good thing they are only 5 minutes from our house. Of course we found all kinds of treasures and Allie found a "magic hat"as soon as we walked into Michael's. She walked around the store with it so we had to buy it! When we came home she put on a few magic shows for us..it was hilarious. She was really bummed because she was doing magic and trying to make a rabbit come out of her hat and it just wasn't working. Then dad had a great idea and a rabbit really did come out of her hat (thanks to our wonderful pet Murphy) and an awesome daddy! Sorry about our missing tv...it is in the repair shop. We are hoping it can be repaired but for now, it makes a really ugly centerpiece for our living room.

Random Allie

You never know what Allie is going to do or say. Her wheels are always turning and she comes up with the funniest things. She tells stories, pretends, sings songs...the list goes on and on. These are just a few pics to show how random this little one can be. She is a riot. Our entertainment bill is pretty cheap around the Hulbert household!

The next Carmen Miranda?
Got frosting??

Hello...Mama...where are you?

Art Beast

About a month ago, we met Aunt Jennifer and cousin Kainoa at Art Beast (a art studio for kids) for a playdate. Friends of Aunt Jennifer's own the studio and she has been telling us about it but we didn't know what to expect. Allie had a great time exploring and Kainoa showed us around. Of course that day I forgot my camera. They had lots of fun...so much fun we took Geoff back the next weekend so he could see what Art Beast was all about. I am not sure if Allie or Geoff loved it more. One of Allie's favorite things to do is dress up and perform. She loved saying "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls the show is about to start" and then Geoff would open the curtain and she would sing or do something funny. I think Geoff even did a little tap dance number with her on stage! We also had a great time playing with moon sand, painting, washing babies, digging in the dirt and rocks and painting. This is an awesome place and I am sure we will be back soon!

Sick Little Monkey

I have not forgotten about blogging....the last couple of weeks have just been crazy. It was back to school this week for me (boo) and last week we had a sick baby girl. Allie had a cough and didn't seem to feel so great last weekend so we took her to urgent care. When the doc walked in the room she said "she is not doing so well" I agreed...she could tell from her breathing right when she walked in the room. Thank goodness Allie is a talker because this is what made me take her in. Her breathing was just not right. Allie was a trooper, we had to wait an hour to see the doc, then she had to have a chest x-ray, and was diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctor thought she might have to be admitted to the hospital since her oxygen level was so low while doing the breathing treatments in the office. Instead she sent us over to ER to make sure she was ok and stable enough to go home. So 4 breathing treatments later, and a bout of "yucky" medicine she was ok to go home and did not have to be admitted to the hospital....thank goodness......lots of sick people there! At home Allie has been doing breathing treatments (like a dragon with her scary mask), taking antibiotics and we only had a few days of "yucky" medicine. Allie could not keep it down so the doc thought it would just be best to stop that one and keep going with the amoxicillan and breathing treatments. Today she is doing awesome. Still a little cough but the doc said that could hang around for while as she is getting better. I hope we can escape the flu season!
