Halloween Festivities

Yesterday Allie took a practice run at trick-or-treating in Downtown Davis. We met Alissa and Addie and had a great time seeing all of the kids dressed up in their costumes (no pics because I forgot my camera). Today we had a great day at the 3rd Annual Eathorne Halloween Party! Burke & Jenn did a great job decorating and coordinating for the party....we had a lot of fun! Allie has been talking about the party for the last couple of weeks and loved playing games and seeing all of the kids. The little ones all got to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood. Allie was not of fan of the house with Captain Hook inside, but had fun getting candy at all of the other houses. She is napping and will be ready for a second round of trick-or-treating tonight. It will be fun!

Spooky House and Pumpkins

Allie has been anxious to make a gingerbread house, but since it is too early I found a spooky gingerbread house and we made it the other night. It was fun to have her help decorate and she even made her very own side. She is quite the little decorator! We also carved pumpkins and she was not too fond of cleaning the guts but she was great at observing and eating candy. Thank goodness Geoff is patient and artistic and does a great job carving. I love choosing a design and seeing the finished product but am not too good at carving. We have a great Dada and our pumpkins look great this year!

Trip to Grandpa's Barn

Allie loves to visit the animals at Grandpa's Barn at the pumpkin patch. It is now a part of our Saturday routine.....Diaper Daredevils, then a bagel at Noah's and off to Grandpa's Barn at Impossible Acres. Each time we go to the barn Allie wants to see more and more animals. On this particular trip visiting Peter Pan (the baby calf) was her favorite. She also liked brushing Candy (the horse) and the piglets didn't snort at her this time, so she enjoyed them. It is a lot of fun to see her with all of the animals. It will be sad when October is over because then we won't get to take any more Saturday trips to the barn! We met a few friends from Kindermusik at the barn yesterday and Allie loved introducing her friend to all of the animals. We might have a little Vet in the making!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend, Grandma Rhonda and Pa were in town for a little visit. They were here to celebrate birthdays and just to hang out with Allie. We have not seen them since August so it was fun! We had a pretty low key weekend and went to the pumpkin patch. Last year Uncle Jerry & Aunt Fay introduced us to Impossible Acres in Davis and we had a great time. Now I think it will be a yearly tradition. It is a nice pumpkin patch with lots of baby animals that the kids can hold, and it is not too busy. Allie was not too interested in holding the animals but she loved "searching" for the perfect pumpkin....I really think she just liked being in the dirt. Yesterday we went again and met Grandma and Paka. Allie was more interested in the animals this time. She went in the pen with the piglets, the calf, and she brushed the pony. She is getting braver every time we go. I guess we will get our money out of our "season pass" :o)

Got Paint?

Allie loves painting and does a great job of keeping the brushes clean and in the right spots. She is very good at reminding Geoff he is using the wrong brush if it is in the wrong color. She says "oh no" and then tells him "blue brush goes in the blue paint dad".....hello! So Allie was busy painting and I guess she decided to throw the brush rule out the window and said heck with brushes how about finger painting...and face painting...and whatever else. It was too funny. She had a great time so of course we laughed and grabbed the camera!

Are you kidding me????
How 'bout these jazz hands!

What's the problem??
