37 Weeks and waiting....

I think we are all ready for our new baby girl to arrive! We have been preparing and getting things in order for quite some time but now I think we are totally ready. I forget how tiny the newborn clothes are....can't wait to see her in all of them!! As we are folding and putting things away it brings back lots of memories from when we were waiting to meet Allison Grace. It is hard to believe that was almost 3 years ago! Grandma Ganne got the Hulbert Family Bassinet ready, and it looks awesome. It is hard to believe that it is almost 70 years old! Uncle Jerry was the first baby in it, and lots of babies have been it since that day! I am still feeling pretty good. I just slip in a few more naps with Allie these days but I guess I am just banking time for the sleepless nights that are right around the corner!

Growing Mama!!

Garden Girl

Allie loves checking on her garden to see if anything is growing. She helps Geoff water and check the progress of the plants and it is fun watch. Geoff and I just had a conversation the other day about how different your life is with kids and how random things are very exciting to all of us....like pink flamingos for the garden. Geoff ordered these online a while back and thought Allie would like them, and of course she loves them! Great 8 dollar purchase on Amazon!! Geoff loves the garden almost as much as Allie. He made this cute watering station for Allie the other day and she was sooo excited she watered all of the plants. We got the idea at Fairy Tale Town, but I must say Geoff's design is a lot cuter!! We are going to have a great time with the garden.

Happy Birthday Pa!

Last weekend my dad "Pa" came to visit for the weekend. Allie was excited all week to see him. Every time we drove past the airport she would say "Is Pa coming today?" My mom was visiting the weekend before and then dad was here last weekend so it was a treat! Allie thinks my dad is a big kid and they play and play. We went on a "hike" when we picked dad up from the airport. It was not what we had in mind....there was not a paved path like it said on the website and no cell service. I didn't think it was such a great idea being 36 months pregnant :o) We found a little place down the road from the original spot, at Folsom lake and Allie thought it was a great place to hike so it was still a fun adventure! The next day we went to the Zoo and then celebrated Pa's birthday at Chevy's on the river. We always say we want to go there, but have never been. It was very nice and we will go back for sure! Grandma Ganne and Paka met us and we had a great lunch. Allie liked when they sang Happy Birthday to Pa! We had a great weekend and the weather was perfect! Happy Birthday Pa!!!

Lil' Gardener

Allie has been asking to plant a garden for sometime now. When you ask her about the garden she says she wants to plant a garden with carrots, peas, beans, potatoes and flowers. We have talked about planting a garden with tomatoes but have never done it. So a few weekends ago, we all headed to Home Depot and bought the materials for Geoff to make a garden box. We thought we would start small and see how it goes (this is our trial year). Geoff made an awesome garden box and filled it with dirt the same afternoon. Since the weather has been kinda hit and miss since Geoff built it, we waited to plant. Allie and Geoff had a planting party last week while I was seeing students one evening. He didn't grab the camera so the next day Allie wanted to dig in the garden like she did with Geoff the night before, so I captured a few shots. She loves getting out and digging in the dirt! We hope we get some plants to grow so we can harvest our veggies and tomatoes. We will keep you posted!!! Geoff also built a sandbox just like the garden box so Allie has been outside everyday and in the evenings! She is a happy little camper :o)

35 1/2 Weeks and Counting

I haven't posted any pregnancy pics for a while so while my mom was in town for the "sprinkle" she took a few pics! I can't believe I am posting these....boy how things change from 10 weeks ago. I am almost 36 weeks right now but the pics were at 34 1/2 weeks. I am still feeling good and things are going well. I think the little one is getting a little more cramped but is still pretty active. We listen to Baby Sister on the doppler every other night or so, so that is fun for Allie to hear her sister's "heart beep". We are excited to meet our new little one...it doesn't seem possible that she will be here in 4 weeks. We scheduled the C-Section at our last appointment so that was a little weird but very exciting!! If she decides to come on her own before the scheduled C-Section, we will have a plan B. I will go back next week and see how things are progressing.

Cali Sprinkle

Last weekend my friend Alissa had a wonderful "sprinkle" for my family and friends. We had a great time and Alissa did a awesome job hosting! We are totally ready for Baby Girl Hulbert to join our family. Now we will just have to wait and see when she decides to come!!

Easter at Grandma & Paka's

This year we went to a birthday party in Colusa for Carlie and Alena on Saturday so we decided to just stay the night to celebrate Easter on Sunday in Colusa. We had fun at the party and had a nice visit in Colusa. We have never stayed all night at Grandma and Paka's with Allie so it was fun. We colored Easter Eggs and Allie enjoyed watching them change colors. The Easter Bunny found her in Colusa and she woke up to a full basket of goodies in the morning. She was pretty excited and also hunted the eggs that she colored the night before. Allie liked hunting but also liked hiding them too. Easter was very nice but it was a soggy, wet day. It reminded us of Oregon. We bundled the kids up and headed out for the hunt in the storm. Allie and Kainoa didn't seem to mind the rain and hunted lots of eggs. They were soaked when they came in but had a great time. Next year we will have a new little sis on the hunt for eggs. Can't wait!

Easter Fishing

Allie and Geoff wanted to go fishing while we were in Colusa for the weekend so we headed out to Geoff's favorite catfish hole that he used to go to with Grandma Ruth. Allie was a good sport and liked reeling in the line. We didn't have much action except right before we left. Geoff had a huge carp on and it broke the line...I know fish stories...but it really did happen. It was pretty cool. Geoff would have stayed to catch that big one, but he was a trooper and left since we were ready to head out. Grandma and Paka were good sports and went along too! After our fishing trip we went for a "hike" on the levee and had fun exploring. Allie gave us all roles on our hike...we were pretending to be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A 2 year old sure sees a lot more on hikes than we do. It is fun to look at all the small things when hiking with Als! We even heard a woodpecker so that was a nice little treat.
