Uncle Scott's Little Helper

Allie loves to visit Unc Scott and Aunt Col at the feed store. It is always an adventure at Higby's and she walks in like she owns the place. We never have the camera with us, but it was still in the car from Ryan's party so we got to snap a few pics. It is funny to see how excited she gets about the mice and birds. Today was especially fun because there were also baby chicks. She got to hold them....well Uncle Scott and Dad did...she didn't want to get too close once they were out of the pen. I don't know where she gets her love for animals (not from mom) but she loves all kinds of animals. I think Murphy might be our first (well second) of many pets!

Happy 8th Birthday Cousin Ryan

Cousin Ryan (Ry-Ry) turned 8 today. It doesn't seem possible that the two month old baby Scott and Nicole packed up and brought to Oregon for our wedding is already 8 years old! It has been fun to see Ryan grow up. He is a little sweetheart and an amazing athlete. He gives 150 percent in all he does...most of the time, (right, Nic?) :o) and he is a great kid. Allie loves her cousin Ry-Ry. We celebrated at the Dixon pool and Allie loved swimming. She was a little hesitant at first but by the end of the party was jumping in and even got her face wet! She was freezing but didn't want to get out. It was a fun way to spend an evening. Happy Birthday Ryan...many more fun years ahead!

Fishing with Dad

Geoff has many fond memories of fishing trips with his Grandma Ruth. He loved staying the night at his grandparents house and getting up early to go fishing with his grandma. He has been anxious to take Allie fishing but we were never sure when she would be "old enough". For some reason she had it in her little head the other day that she wanted to go fishing. She said "Can we go fishing...can we...can we?" Of course Geoff was very excited to take her! We made the trek to Colusa to the spot Geoff used to go with his grandma. We were not there for too long and caught a fish..so that was fun. Grandma Ganne and Paka came along and gave Allie her first Dora fishing pole. I am sure this will be Allie's first of many fishing trips with Geoff.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Allie loves reading and singing nursery rhymes. Her favorite one to sing at the moment is Jack and Jill. It is so cute when she sings them but it is usually when we don't have the video camera on us...especially at nap time. I thought I would give you a little Allie rendition of Itsy Bitsy Spider. I am learning how to use this new Flip Video so I am a little shaky and still learning. The other day she sang her ABC's and we were so excited to watch it and I forgot to hit record...then of course she refused to sing them again. Oh well...we will catch her sooner or later!

Mother's Day in Ashland

Mother's Day always seems to sneak up on us, so we haven't celebrated Mother's Day with my mom for a few years. This year we planned a last minute trip to Ashland to meet my parents half way. It was a beautiful weekend and we had a great trip. Allie did awesome in the car...this was her first long car ride. We went swimming, explored downtown Ashland and visited Lithia Park. We actually went there both days....I think we could have stayed all day. It is a beautiful park with lots of things to do. We forget how green and pretty Oregon is. It was a great way to spend the weekend.

Hulbert Happenings

We have been enjoying the sunny weather. We didn't think we would get a new bunny this soon with the summer heat coming, but we have a new "Little Murphy." We couldn't resist when we went into the "puppy store" the other day. Allie loves to go to the pet store and look at the animals. She calls it the "puppy store" even though there are no puppies in the store! We have also been bike riding lately. Allie always wants to see our bicycles (that are hanging from the garage ceiling) so we finally bought a bike seat for her to ride with us. I think this is the most we have used our bikes in a long time. We have fun riding around the neighborhood and somehow always end up at the park :o) It has been fun. She does awesome and wears her helmet the whole time.

Rainy Days

It is not very often that we have a few rainy days in a row this time of year. It has been kinda fun doing "inside" activities with Allie. She is such an outside girl I thought she would be going crazy by now, but when she looks outside she says "Ohhhh... it is pouring out" then starts singing "....raining...pouring...old man snoring..." it is too funny. She just keeps us laughing all the time. She loves painting and yesterday she said "mom wook..bewful masterpiece." It is so fun hearing her talk...sometimes we are amazed by the stuff she says. Last night she was making a mess with the bath water and Geoff said "Allison Grace what are you doing?" and she said "Making a big mess Dad!" Indeed she was making a big mess, it is hard to get mad...just easier to laugh.
