First Grade

I really can't believe we have a 1st Grader in the house! Where in the world did the summer go? and is it really possible to have a 1st grader and really true that Paige is starting preschool next week? Yes, yes it is true. It is so weird to think that Allison is gone from the house from 8:15-3:00, every.single.day (well at least she gets out at 2 on Wednesday) but still....those are long days! It is a good thing Allison loves school and loves learning! Thank goodness she does not take after her mother who cried all summer long before every new school year until high school.

On the first day of school when Allie was getting ready we had a few little conversations. Remember to go to the bathroom at recess, your snack will be in your side pocket, have fun, don't worry if you don't get something right, just try your best...you know all the little things to help ease her little curious heart and mind. In the midst of all of the talk and reminders, she got a huge smile and said "Hey mom, it should be called first great because I know today is going to be great!" and I knew she would be fine! She can be a worrier about some stuff and a little OCD at times, but we went to school to check things out once we knew who her new teacher was. I will admit I stalked her on FB first and was able to show Allison a picture of her new teacher. "Mom she is like a teenager, well not really but you know kinda"....she is young and excited to be at WC, and I know Allison will have a great year. She will learn lots and grow as a student. We had a wonderful Kindergarten year and I know this will be awesome as well. Our little 1st grader had a "great" first day!

Mrs. Crouch taught these girls well...one minute in class and already hard at work!

Yolo County Fair

The girls always look forward to the Yolo County Fair. They love to look at the animals, ride the ponies, ride rides and check out the ribbons on fair entries. This year Allison won 1st place and Paige won 3rd. They had fun making them with Grandma and Paka. We didn't go to the fair every day this year, but had our "fair share" of time at the fair! We found that the carnies are eager to help "win" better prizes, during the day, it just takes a little wheeling and dealing!

Paige's first time entering and she won 3rd Place!

Allison is still on a 1st Place streak for the 3rd year in a row!

Pony rides

Dizzy Dragons is a must at the fair every year. Fiona was the elected "responsible rider" with the kiddos! Thanks Fi
Merry-go-round of course...

Met up with some friends in the evening to ride some more since we had all day bracelets

Ferris Wheel fun

On Saturday we ran into Uncle Scott at the livestock auction...Allie helped him bid on a lamb and then the girls talked him into a spin on the Dizzy Dragons!
We met up with Grandma Ganne and Kainoa for some more fair fun
More pony rides

A little fun on the Super Slide

Flying Elephants and jerky roller coasters are always fun too!

A trip to the fair is not complete without a few "casts" at the fishing game.."everyone is a winner"

After winning lots of  "small prizes" and a little wheeling and dealing with the carnies,  Kainoa and Paige both got to take home a cute wolf. Since Allison was so kinda and let K and P get a "big" prize, she got to go to Target and pick out her own "prize" on the way home from the fair.

Cheers to another fun year at the Yolo County Fair

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique & Princess Breakfast

Sorry it has taken me so long to get to this post. You are probably over looking at Disneyland pictures since they are our last 3 posts, but we had such a great time I had to separate the posts. Then once we got home, reality hit and I started back to work....boo hiss...but on the bright side I have been off work all summer, so I need to get over it and be happy I have a job!! Thank goodness I work part time and have a flexible schedule!

So back to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Princess breakfast day!
Aunt Jennifer wanted the girls to go to the boutique for their "early" Christmas gift. So all of the kiddos went and got decked out before the princess breakfast. The fairy godmothers let the girls choose a "princess" hairstyle, did their makeup, painted nails and gave them a bag of goodies. Kainoa got a knight shield and sword and got a colored spike. It was a fun morning.

The fairy godmother did not work her magic on attitudes.....this was our grumpy little princess when she did not get to pick a toy....little does she know she could have picked a few toys with the price paid for her to transform into this little princess :o)

After getting all dolled up, we headed over California Adventure to have breakfast at Ariel's Grotto with all of the princesses. Our family, Grandma, Paka, Grandma, Pa and Uncle Jo-Jo all joined us. We had a great breakfast and it was fun to see all of the princesses up close and personal.
