Jog-a-thon

This year Allison had a fun experience with her first jog-a-thon. The weeks leading up to this day were great fun with contests and different activities at school. A huge deal is to participate in the "pig race" at chapel on Friday. For each student who gets $100 in pledges, they can participate in the pig race and then win a prize. Her pig one first place so she was super excited!!

The day of the jog-a-thon we were all there to cheer the kids on. Grandma and Paka were at the event too and even ran a few laps. I was marking laps on sticks for Allison's class so it was lots of fun to see the kids come around as they finished each lap! Allison ran her little heart out and completed 12 laps and seemed to enjoy it. But at the end she said "I don't know if I will ever run again". Paige loved running laps too. She had a whole "jog-a'thon" outfit and new Nike shoes too, but ended up wearing another outfit and crocs. She didn't mind. We ended the day with a all school BBQ and it was a very fun event and we look forward to many more jog-a-thons!!
