This year we went to Easter at The Brazelton Ranch (cousin Liz's house) and had an awesome day. Allie loves going out to the ranch and so do we! It is beautiful and peaceful and you really forget you are in Vacaville. I could sit out on Liz and Hut's porch, front or back...I am not picky....all day long! We had yummy food, an Easter Egg hunt, and flew kites. It was a great way to celebrate Easter Sunday!
Riding on Daddy's shoulders is a great place to be

Paige hangin' out watching the kites fly above her....she loved it!
Last night, Allie was so excited for the Easter Bunny to come. She kept looking out the front window for bunny tracks and every little sound she heard, she was sure it was him. Once she finally got settled and ready for bed, she said "I just know the Easter Bunny will leave and egg under my pillow"....he must have been listening because this morning there was an egg under her pillow and in Paigee's crib ;o) Allie woke up at the crack of dawn and was soooo excited. She said "Easter is here...Easter is here...yay!" After convincing her to stay in bed for a "few more minutes" we finally went downstairs and she found the baskets. The bunny left one for Allie and Paige! The Easter Bunny tried not to put too much candy in the baskets this year, but Allie has been saying that she wants a HUGE chocolate bunny in her basket. Well Mr. EB pulled through and she got a princess chocolate bunny. She hugged it and said "this is what I wanted my whole life, I knew he would bring me one!" Once Paige woke up, Allie helped her find her goodies in her basket. Paige loved taking the things out of her basket and reading her new books. It was a Happy Easter morning!
Last night Uncle Timi, Aunt Jennifer and Kainoa joined us for a second Easter Egg dying session. It was fun and the kids liked it for a while. We had lots of eggs to dye! By the end, it was the adults dying the eggs...I guess the kids had, had enough dying eggs and wanted to play instead! Kainoa and Allie had fun in the jump house, going on "carpet" rides and playing pirates! Paige just watched them run around...and it won't be long before she is able to join them. After egg dying we had a nice dinner at a little Mexican restaurant up the street and then had a little frozen yogurt at Big Kahuna! We had a nice night!
Last night we finally dyed Easter eggs at the Hulbert House! Allie has been anxious to dye them since we got the kit...a while ago! She was so excited to dye them and decorate them. Paige was not too sure what to think but she watched for a bit. It was getting close to bed time, so we did not get all of the decorating done last night, but we got to decorate them this morning. We will have round 2 of egg dying with cousin Kainoa later today!
One night last week Geoff was home a little early and I was on spring break, so I didn't have to rush off to see students. We were out back just hanging out. I was going to start planting flowers and Geoff said lets just sit here.....anyone who knows Geoff, knows he is NOT a sitter! I looked at him and said..."ok" like wondering if he was not feeling well, and he said, "really how often do we just sit?"...um....not very often...especially Geoff! It was very nice. The girls had a great time exploring out back. They played in the sandbox, played ball, Paige crawled EVERYWHERE and was a messy little piggy by the end of the night but we had a great evening. At one point, Allie got in the reclining lawn chair and said "Oh....this is the life".....
After a bit, my non-sitter husband thought of a great idea. Cardboard box rides around the yard. Paige was not too sure about the "carpet" rides but Allie loved them. Geoff was working up a sweat after the millionth lap around the yard so I thought I would take over. Ya...it is a tad bit harder than you might think. Then after the carpet rides they were on to slip and sliding. I was in with Paige (so no pictures of that) but Geoff and Allie were going strong. Sometimes Geoff forgets he is not 4, but no one around here seems to mind!
Geoff and I were married in 2001 and were blessed with our first daughter, Allison Grace in July 2007, and our second daughter, Paige Kaitlyn in 2010. I am a part-time, independent study teacher and Geoff is an administrator at our school. We have a good balance of work and home. We created this blog to keep our family and friends in the loop and let them know what goes on around the Hulbert house. Thanks for reading!
