This Christmas season has been a good one. It is so fun to see all of the things that are exciting at Christmas time through 3 year old eyes. Sometimes during all of the holiday rush it is easy to miss some of the little things that Allie loved this year! Since Christmas decor and toys are out in stores and Costco starting in October, we had Allie make a wish book. She wanted EVERYTHING at the stores and on TV so when she would want something we would say "lets add that to your wish book". It didn't always work out but a lot of times it did. So instead of having a list for Santa, she had a wish book... and I think Santa came through and delivered all of the gifts she wanted. Paige didn't have a wish book but Santa was good to her too! When Allie woke up in the morning we said what is today? and she said "Thanksgiving" and smiled. Then said she was just joking and said that S-A-N-T-A came to her house last night. At some point this season she learned to spell Santa so she has had fun spelling it! The girls slept in until 8:30 so Grandma and Paka were able to make it over to see them open their gifts. It was fun to see the excitement in their eyes waiting to see what was wrapped up in each package! After we opened we ate yummy home made cinnamon rolls that Grandma and Paka brought and then stayed in our jammies most of the day. Then headed over to Grandma and Paka's for round two of opening and a very nice dinner. We had a very Merry Christmas! We are truly blessed!
We had a busy Christmas Eve this year. It was fun to have both girls this year. Last year, we had just found out we were having another sweet girl and this year she is here!! Getting out of the house with two little ones is not as easy as it used to be but it is a lot more fun! Allison loved everything about Christmas this year and Paige was a trooper everywhere we went. We went to Uncle Jerry and Aunt Fay's for a quick visit in the afternoon and then headed out to Uncle Jerry's church for the children's service. Allie has talked about this service all year so she was excited to go see Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. We had good seats and could see all of the cute little ones dressed up. After church, we went to Scott and Nicole's for dinner. The kids had fun opening gifts and playing together. We had good food and had fun with the adults gift and ornament exchange. This year we also did a white elephant gift exchange and had lots of fun! Next year we will just do the white elephant....good idea Geoffrey! After dinner the girls were tired out and we got cookies and milk ready for Santa and carrots and reindeer food for the reindeer. Allie wanted me to leave Santa a note and I am sure he got a kick out of it :o)

Up in Oregon we always get together with my cousin Kristen and her girls to exchange gifts. This year my cousin Leisa thought it would be fun for all the girls to decorate cookies together. She had tons of festive decorations and the girls had fun decorating. Allie, Keslin and Bronwyn all decorated and ate frosting and Paige and Raelyn had to watch. They will be in the mix next year! We had lots of fun.

Then when we got home from Oregon Grandma Ganne and Paka transformed their garage into a cooking decorating workshop. All of the Hulbert cousins were there except for Michael and Maddie. The Weldons flew in from Hawaii the night before so it was great to have them there to decorate. All of the kids enjoyed it...even the big kids. I think Geoff must have decorated 50 cookies! We had lots of fun.

Geoff and I were married in 2001 and were blessed with our first daughter, Allison Grace in July 2007, and our second daughter, Paige Kaitlyn in 2010. I am a part-time, independent study teacher and Geoff is an administrator at our school. We have a good balance of work and home. We created this blog to keep our family and friends in the loop and let them know what goes on around the Hulbert house. Thanks for reading!
