Birthday celebrations at Great Day are a HUGE deal. Allie always asks if it is going to be her birthday so she can wear a birthday crown and ring the birthday bell. They get to do all sorts of fun things when they have a birthday and Allie loves when they have celebrations. Since Allie is a "summer" birthday they had a celebration yesterday for all of the summer birthday kiddos! There were 8 kids celebrating and it was fun to see all of them. It was supposed to be at the park, but when Mr. Sun was not shining and it was raining instead, they changed the plan and had the party at school. It turned out fine, but Geoff had to miss :o( since they changed the time and place. But Grandma, Paka and Paige got to come. They enjoyed being in the classroom and being part of the celebration. Paige loved seeing all of the kids and clapped along while they sang. Allie was excited about her crown and ringing the bell. She was not too excited about blowing out the candle. She had a little incident a while back and got wax all over her face when blowing out a candle, so she is a little apprehensive sometimes. I don't blame her...but that is why she is holding her face in the candle pictures! Allison wore her crown all day and was very proud of it. Each of the families with a child celebrating brought a treat or something for the party and we brought Allie's all time favorite.....Starbucks Birthday Cake Pops! They were a hit and it was fun to share them. We had a fun day and can't believe Allie will be turning 4 in July!
Geoff and I were married in 2001 and were blessed with our first daughter, Allison Grace in July 2007, and our second daughter, Paige Kaitlyn in 2010. I am a part-time, independent study teacher and Geoff is an administrator at our school. We have a good balance of work and home. We created this blog to keep our family and friends in the loop and let them know what goes on around the Hulbert house. Thanks for reading!
