Happy 6th Birthday

Allison had a wonderful birthday celebration with friends and family so we had a low key day on her actual birthday. I planned poorly and had a hair appt. on her birthday so it was kinda a crazy morning. We didn't sing Happy Birthday in the morning like usual, but she had a great rest of the day, so I guess it was ok the morning was kinda rushed! Hard to believe that we were just celebrating her 1st Birthday, and now our celebrating her 6th! Allison had grown and changed in 6 short years. She is still as sweet as ever. Loves to pretend, dance, write stories, read and just plain loves life. She is a blessing and we can't wait to see what this year brings for our sweet girl. Love, love, love you Gracer Mace!

Grandma Ganne and Allison are always great about making birthday cakes, so Allison and Paige helped Grandma make the cake in the morning. I think this was the most sprinkles I have ever seen on a cake...anything goes at Grandma Ganne's!

Since Allison will be in 1st grade next year, we have been talking about cutting out naps. She always says she "isn't tired" but then lays down and falls right to sleep. Now that she is 6, she decided naps can go out the door. So we had a little quiet time and she wrote a story. She always says we need to be "practicing for first grade, reading, writing, and doing 'school' stuff", so today she was on it.

Allison wanted to keep with tradition and celebrate at Red Robin, so we opened a few gifts before heading out to Red Robin. Her favorite gift was her "Just Like Me" American Girl Doll. We have been watching for one with dark hair, and blue eyes for a few years, but she just came out and Allison got her. Welcome to the family Caroline.

We had a nice dinner at Red Robin with Grandma, Paka and the Kinney Family.  Emma did not come to Allison's birthday so she wanted to make sure she went to dinner with us to help celebrate. The girls had fun.

It is also a tradition to get our fireworks on Allison's birthday, so we went to the WC firework stand and got our goodies...fireworks are expensive! The best part was that both girls wanted the "pink diamonds" firework...can't image what wedding dress shopping will be like...start saving Geoff :o)

After dinner we opened a few more gifts at Grandma and Paka's and sang Happy Birthday. We had a awesome day celebrating our birthday girl.
